Binding of black goatskin with design incorporating two crosses, front and back. Cross on front raised from surface of cover and highly polished. Back cover cross polished on plane with surface. Blind-tooled lines encircle both crosses. Gold-tooled title on spine. Winner: 1997 DeGolyer Award for American Bookbinding
