Joanne Sonnichsen

Menlo Park, California 
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Joanne Sonnichsen received her B.A. in Art from Stanford University in 1958. She studied with Donald Glaister in California for six years and has also studied with Sün Evrard, Christopher Clarkson, and Ole Olsen. She teaches and specializes in fine binding and restoration. Since 1995 she has served as president of The Book Club of California.

Design Description:
Cross structure binding made from two pieces of unsupported goatskin parchment of slightly different hues. Fluted spine, yapp edges, and ribbon ties.
