Example Binding:
Unbound copy of early Hypertext Out-Put to Paper.

This half-size model reconstructs the printer's sheets by guarding the disbound text foila together. The binding uses a sewn boards structure. Its visual "board panel" appearance echoes the printer's imposition pattern.

Design Description:
The design seeks to elucidate the complex series of parts of Ulysses by reconstructing the text into the original printer's sheets, conveying the printer's imposition as a reading arrangement for the text. The evidences of this copy's previous binding will remain, revealed to echo the theme of multiple readings. Each printer's sheet will be reconstructed with kozo guards as a throw out. The sewn boards binding structure will be adapted from the earliest codex bindings. The cover patterns represent the imposed sheets and their type forms.
