Elder's Orders of Samuel Cochran

Elder’s Orders of Samuel Cochran, signed by Francis Asbury at Amenia, New York on April 10, 1808.

Samuel Cochran (1778–1845) was received on trial in the New York Conference in 1804, ordained a Deacon in 1806, and became an Elder in 1808. He rode circuits in Canada and New York before being appointed Presiding Elder of the Rhinebeck District. Cochran retired in 1843 having served thirty-nine years in the ministry.
