Dürer's Influence
The influence of Dürer’s Small Passion woodcuts beyond the borders of Germany can be seen in the four works exhibited in this section. These include a Book of Hours printed in Paris, an Italian devotional manual, an important Italian drawing reflecting Jacopo da Pontormo's use of Dürer’s designs in his fresco for a monastery near Florence, and an illustrated translation of the Gospels into Arabic intended for export from Rome to the Middle East.
