Christ Carrying the Cross
Passio Christi ab Alberto Durer Nurenbergensi effigiata cum varii generis carminibus Fratris Benedicti Chelidonii Musophili.
Nuremberg: Albrecht Dürer, 1511. (11012)
The next four woodcuts climax with the Crucifixion. First, in Christ Carrying the Cross, the Savior stumbles under the weight of the Cross and looks back at St. Veronica, who offers her veil so that he may wipe the blood and sweat from his face.
