[Thomas à Kempis].
An Extract of the Christian’s Pattern.
Edited by John Wesley. Philadelphia: Henry Tuckniss, for Ezekiel Cooper, 1800. (04653)

This is the second of two early Methodist publications held by Bridwell Library, each printed in Philadelphia, that were inscribed by the same owner, Sally Sackett of Wrightstown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. In her will of 1822, Sackett left money toward the building of the Methodist meeting house in Wrightstown. She also designated her niece, Clarissa Wetherill Lee (1789–1876), as one of her heirs. Both of the exhibited books owned by Sackett also bear ownership inscriptions by Clarissa Lee dated June 18th 1826, a few months after her aunt’s death. The two books came to Bridwell Library from different sources, many years apart.
