John Wesley.
[Last Will and Testament]. Manuscript on paper, written by a clerk, signed by Wesley.
Broad Marston: dated 16 March 1770. (Manuscript Wesley Folio Box)

In his penultimate will of 1770, the 67-year-old John Wesley entrusted James Rouquet with the collection of funds from the sale of Methodist books throughout the British Isles, maintaining Wesley’s personal library at Kingswood, paying an annual supplement for the Kingswood School, and making Wesley’s “English books in my Studies” (in London, Bristol, and Newcastle upon Tyne) available to visiting Methodist preachers. Rouquet’s death at the age of 46 in 1776 made it necessary for Wesley to revise his will.
