The Bible was translated into Ethiopic from Greek sources as early as the fourth century. Used by a minister of the Ethiopic Orthodox Church in eastern Africa, this manuscript in ancient liturgical Ge’ez provides the text of the Psalms and other selections from the Old Testament. Displayed is the beginning of Solomon’s Song of Songs.
