Zürich: Heinrich Hamberger, 1657. (BRA0933)

Following a 1562 edition of the Psalms, this 1657 translation of Genesis is the earliest portion of the Bible printed in the Lower Engadine dialect of the Romansch language used in easternmost Switzerland. The translator, Joan Pitschen Salutze (1597–1662), was a pastor in the town of Lavin. He inscribed this copy for a friend in 1658.
