French New Testament

[French New Testament].
[Lyons: Guillaume Le Roy for Barthélemy Buyer, c. 1476]. (07032)

This first edition of the New Testament in French is a paraphrase of the New Testament compiled by the Augustinian canons Julien Macho and Pierre Farget. It was based not on St. Jerome’s Latin Bible, or any other Bible, but rather on Guyart de Moulins’ thirteenth-century summary of the scriptures known as the Bible historiée.
