A modest Book of Hours written in gothic batarde script in brown, red, and blue ink with numerous French rubrics, this manuscript includes four full-page miniatures depicting St. John the Evangelist on the Isle of Patmos at the beginning of the Gospel Lessons, the Adoration of the Magi at the beginning of the Hours of the Virgin, King David in Prayer at the beginning of the Penitential Psalm, and Job on the Dung Heap at the beginning of the Office of the Dead. Ten additional pages feature large illuminated initials and elaborate borders decorated with colored flowers on liquid gold grounds.
