Albert Outler died in Florida on September 1, 1989. On September 7 an overflow crowd filled the sanctuary of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas to honor his memory. The memorial service featured messages by Perkins School of Theology faculty colleague John Deschner and former student Rev. Bob W. Parrott. It is due to the vision of Bob Parrott that Albert Outler’s library and papers came to Bridwell Library.
