In February of 1974 Albert Outler presented the annual Fondren Lectures at Southern Methodist University. Outler’s four lectures on the theme “Theology in the Wesleyan Spirit” were “Plundering the Egyptians: On the Art of Making the Best Use of Good Sources,” “Diagnosing the Human Flaw: Reflections on the Real Human Condition,” “Offering Christ: The Good News Here and Hereafter,” and “Going on to Perfection: Holiness of Heart and Life.”
