Letter from Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh, C.S.C, to Albert Outler, October 10, 1966

In this letter from University of Notre Dame President Theodore Hesburgh (1917– ) to Albert Outler, Hesburgh discusses an institution that both helped to envision, create, and promote: The Jerusalem Institute for Advanced Ecumenical Studies, now known as the Tantur Ecumenical Institute. In the closing paragraph Hesburgh affirms Outler as “one of our most important members of the [Institute’s Academic] Council and, certainly, its most influential in moving our project towards completion.”
