These three photographs illustrate Albert Outler’s presence at the Second Vatican Council. The first photograph (by Pontificia Fotografia Felici) was taken in the Sistine Chapel at a September 23, 1964 observers’ audience with Pope Paul VI. The second (by S. Appetiti) shows Outler and other observers during a council session. The third photograph shows Outler in St. Peter’s Square conversing with the Most Rev. Thomas K. Gorman (1892–1980), Bishop of Dallas-Fort Worth.
