The eighteenth-century Evangelical Revival in the United Kingdom was associated with continental Pietism. Both movements stressed the experience of inward, spiritual rebirth fostering lives of personal and social holiness. This section of the exhibition highlights works by four leaders of the Evangelical Revival: John Wesley; Selina Hastings, Countess of Huntingdon; George Whitefield; and John Cennick.
