Bible with Engravings Added

English readers of the eighteenth century often wished to enhance their Bibles with extra illustrations. Several London publishers satisfied this demand with series of engravings intended for insertion within standard Bible editions. This Bible of 1763 was interleaved with some 200 illustrations from the London bookseller Richard Ware’s edition of The Historical Part of the Bible... curiously engraved by J. Cole (London, c. 1760)
