The Holy Bible, Containing the Old and New Testaments Translated from the Originals into the Nepala Language by the Serampore Missionaries.
Serampore, India: Mission Press, 1821.( Prothro B-388)

A significant portion of the Prothro Collection consists of vernacular translations of the Bible into non-European languages. During the nineteenth century the missionary zeal of European Christians led to the publication of Bible translations into numerous new languages as a means of evangelization. The rare Turkish, Uyghur, Naipali, and Eskimo Bibles exhibited in this section reflect these efforts.
