Second Edition of Luther's Complete Bible

Biblia, das ist, die gantze Heilige Schrifft Deudsch.
Translated by Martin Luther.
Wittenberg: Hans Lufft, 1535. (Prothro B-234)

The first edition of Luther’s translation of the complete German Bible, published at Wittenberg in 1534, enjoyed immediate success and helped to promote the Protestant movement. This second edition of 1535 preserves its original binding, and some of its many woodcuts by Lucas Cranach the Younger bear sixteenth-century hand-coloring.
