Original lithographs by Marc Chagall – Printed on the presses of Fernand Mourlot

Twenty-four original lithographs by Marc Chagall (1887–1985) accompany excerpts from the story of Exodus, which were selected by the Rev. Dr. G. Daniel Mostow and Ann Siller from a 1597 English translation of the Bible printed in London. The type was set in the Romain du Roi typeface used in other publications by Chagall and printed at the Imprimerie National de France.

Two hundred fifty copies were printed on Arches wove paper and numbered 1–250. Fifteen additional copies printed hors commerce (not for sale) were lettered A to O. Another edition of twenty copies was printed on Japan paper and numbered I–XX. This copy is number 1 of the edition printed on Arches paper and is signed by the artist.
