This book of Wesleyan hymns was owned by Mary Tooth (1778–1843), who served for more than forty years as a preacher and class leader in Madeley, Shropshire.
Second edition of Charles Wesley's hymnbook intended for children. It includes one hundred hymn texts for specific occasions, times of the day, and to develop good habits. The final thirty-two hymns are intended for youngest children.
This copy of the book of hymns to be sung in Lady Huntingdon's chapels was given by Selena Hastings, Countess of Huntingdon to Hannah Scutt (d. 1815), her longest serving and most trusted servant, at Trefeca College on 19 July 1780.
