Description
An account of the resource
Crimson goatskin worked in bas-relief and blind tooled; gold tooled with various sizes of dots, stars, and bells; title gold tooled on spine. Hand embroidered silk headbands; top edge graphite; marbled paper by Catherine Levine. A Christmas ghost story, the idea for the design was to make the book look, from a distance, like the ubiquitous Christmas greeting card. What first appears in bas-relief as a Christmas tree with decorations becomes, upon closer inspection, a skeletal hand.

Description

A French style binding with laced-on boards. The top edge is graphite with red silk hand sewn endbands. The book is covered in black goatskin with black emery paper and black morocco onlays, enclosed in a traditional chemise and slipcase. The shape and texture of the onlays suggest the mountain ranges dear to John Muir in his exploration of Yosemite.

Description
An account of the resource
This miniature binding has been sewn on tapes, laced in, with silk endbands. The gilding has been done by Myles at Marchetti Brothers. The outer and inner boards are covered in full goatskin with leather onlays and gold, palladium, and colored foil tooling. The flyleaves are Curwen decorated and Twinrocker handmade papers. A cloth and leather push-out book type box has a stamped leather label. The volume's Edwardian verse describes a woman with an overbrimming wardrobe, but still with "nothing to wear." The design shows the woman in her dressing gown, her arms up in despair, while the leather doublures illustrate various pieces of clothing thrown in the air.

Description
An account of the resource
Full blue calf binding with a circle of gold leaf spreading from the spine onto both boards, and inset panels of kidskin, fishskin, goatskin, box calf, and abalone shell at the center of both boards. Tooled in palladium leaf. The House North of South documents the bizarre home of artist Fritz Scholder in a series of ghostly black and white duotone photographs. The muted grays of the photographs are transformed into garish mixed media colors on the binding.
