In 1986 Dr. Heitzenrater became general editor of the Bicentennial edition of the Works of John Wesley. To date nineteen out of an anticipated thirty-five volumes have been published. In 2005 Abingdon Press produced a CD-ROM including the sermons, hymns, and journals of the set to provide scholars with electronic access to these foundational writings by John Wesley.
