Deacon's Orders of John Manifee

Deacon’s Orders of John Manifee, signed by Francis Asbury at Bethlehem, Wilson County, Tennessee on October 23, 1815.

Rev. John Manifee entered the ministry in 1812 or 1813 and was ordained a Deacon in the Tennessee Conference in 1815. In 1816 he transferred to the Mississippi Conference, where he became a Presiding Elder in 1818 and a missionary to New Orleans in 1819. In late 1820 Rev. Manifee left the itinerant ministry.
