Priscilla A. Spitler

Smithville, Texas 
Born in Columbus, Ohio, Priscilla A. Spitler received her B.F.A. in Printmaking from the California College of Arts and Crafts. She holds a Certificate of Craft Bookbinding from the London College of Printing (1981) and studied in England with James Brockman. In 1987 she became head of the Limited Edition Department of BookLab, Inc. in Austin, Texas. She now operates the Hands On Bindery in Austin.

Design Description: 
Full leather binding of dark blue goatskin with multi-colored onlays. Gold tooling. Distressed areas with inlaid and painted lines on spine and boards. Gold-tooled title and date on spine.
