Denis Gouey

Gouey began his training in Europe including a three year bookbinding apprenticeship at the Lycee Paul Cornu. In 1978, Gouey opened the Denis Gouey Bookbinding Studio in New York City and subsequently moved to Torrington, Connecticut. He specializes in fine bookbinding and restoration of books, as well as the preservation and presentation of important documents, photographs, and artwork.

Full leather (goatskin) clam shell presentation box with false spine and no titling. The inside of the trays are lined with matching suede. The box tray includes a platform which holds three videocassettes. Resting on top of this platform are two half leather and paper case bindings. One of these is a commemorative portfolio and the other is a commemorative album.

Design Description: 
The text block will be sewn on tapes and cased into a full leather binding of blue-green goatskin. The front board of the case bears the title and author's name hot-stamped with white foil. The binding within its box will be housed in a half leather and cloth presentation box with a digital copy of Ulysses, a small clam shell box, and information on the contents.
