Rev. Charles Alexander Long spurs

The exhibited spurs were used by Rev. Charles Alexander Long (1881–1986) during his forty-one years of ministry as a Methodist evangelist in Brazil. Rev. Long was born in Texas, studied at the University of Oklahoma (B.S., 1905), joined the West Oklahoma Conference in 1906, and graduated from the Vanderbilt University School of Religion (B.D., 1911). Long and his wife, Donna Lucy York Long (1885–1970) served as missionaries in Brazil from 1911 until 1952.
