Researchers Room

The Researchers Room near the east end of the second floor corridor is among the few spaces that has remained in its current configuration since the building opened in 1951. Between the south-facing windows is a pastel portrait of Clarissa Hale Corey who operated Farallon Press as an outlet for works related to Christian Science. On other walls are a bronze relief portrait of Vash Gon, a Jicarilla chief, and a rubbing of William Shakespeare’s tombstone given by Dallas book reviewer Evelyn Oppenheimer. Also in the room is a nineteenth-century walnut armoire, the gift of benefactor Carr P. Collins, Jr. who presented archives of his Sangreal Foundation to Bridwell Library.
