Advice to a Daughter, Written by a Lady
Religious and Christian Advice to a Daughter. Written by a Lady.
London: Printed for R. Robinson, 1714. (BRB0075)
In the first and only edition of this work, an anonymous mother imparts religious advice and spiritual reinforcement to her daughter in a series of five formal letters. Beginning with a discussion of the baptismal covenant, the author also includes “general counsel, direction, and caution” for developing and maintaining a proper and blessed life. The volume concludes with expositions on the Apostles’ Creed, the Ten Commandments, and the Lord’s Prayer.
